New Jersey Heavy Metal/Hard Rock Club The Pirate's Den Detroyed In Fire
December 13, 2006Popular Gloucester City, New Jersey rock club The Pirate's Den is in ruins this morning (Dec. 13) after an overnight inferno (photos) sent two people to the hospital, according to NBC10.com.
A firefighter who helped extinguish the three-alarm fire was hospitalized. A person inside the building was also taken to the hospital. He suffered from smoke inhalation.
It took crews more than two hours to get the scene under control. They still do not know how the fire started.
In recent years, METAL CHURCH, GEORGE LYNCH and many other bands have performed at this venue.
Owner and resident Brian Cohen is said to be an ardent supporter of the original music scene who has given numerous local bands a regular place to play when other clubs were not willing to open their doors to heavy metal acts.
